Anthony Mastroianni Sr. Obituary

Anthony D. Mastroianni, Sr., 89, of Middlebury, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2018, at St. Mary's Hospital "VITAS," surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Carmela (Pannone) Mastroianni for 60 years.

Anthony was born in Middlebury, on April 15, 1928, son of the late Michele and Maria Luigia (Ferrucci) Mastroianni.

He was a Union Sheet Metal Worker for Local #40 for over 40 years, retiring in 1991. After his retirement, he spent many years volunteering for the mentally handicapped. He also served as President of the Italian Club, at Crosby High School.

Anthony was a Jack of All Trades, and Master of Most.

He loved doing yard work, gardening, and climbing trees. Anthony also loved going bowling with his fellow sheet metal workers. He especially enjoyed having family gatherings, at their retreat home in Maine, by the water, throughout the year.

Anthony was a loving father, and he had a sincere interest in his children's lives.

He had a funny, dry sense of humor, and will be missed dearly by all who knew him.

Besides his loving wife, Anthony is survived by his five children:  Anthony Mastroianni, Jr., of Waterbury, LouAnn Larwin, of Middlebury, Joseph Mastroianni, of Middlebury, Domenic Mastroianni, of Hockley, TX, and Bart Mastroianni, of Middlebury.

Anthony is also survived by his four grandchildren, whom he considered his Precious Little Gems; Joshua Larwin, Gregory Mastroianni, Joelle Mastrioianni, and Jacqueline Rose Marie Mastroianni. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his brothers, John and Angelo Mastroianni, and his sister, Laura Citriniti.

The family would like to thank the Watertown, VNA Health Care At Home, Waterbury Hospital, Beacon Brook Health Center, and St Mary's "VITAS' for all their care and compassion.
