Waterbury—Jean L. Cipriano passed away peacefully on December 12, 2017, at home, surrounded by her family.
Jean was born on September 5th, 1921, in Port Chester, NY, daughter of Peter and Domenica (Santoro) Santarsiero. Jean came to Waterbury to work during WWII where she met her future husband Louis Cipriano. She worked at Lux and Timex and was a homemaker until she and her husband opened Cipriano’s Restaurant in the Town Plot neighborhood from 1959 to 1972. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church and enjoyed attending the Saturday afternoon Mass. She also worked at the church’s bingo for decades.
She is survived by her children Louis Jr. (Jayne) Cipriano of Lakeland, FL, Peter (Chris) Cipriano of Prospect, CT, and sister Marie Civitella of Atlanta, GA. She is also survived by her grandchildren Nancyjean, Peter (Margaret), Deanna Cipriano, Tracey (Ralph) Anderson and Michael Cipriano. She also leaves her great grandchildren Louis III, Sydney, Mary Jayne Cipriano , Samantha and Lila Anderson as well as many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her parents, her siblings Frank, Andrew, and Anne; also her husband Louis Sr., son Stephen, and grandson Louis II.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am, on Friday, December 15, 2017, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 785 Highland Ave. in Waterbury. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet directly at the church. There no calling hours. Colasanto Funeral Home has been entrusted with all arrangements.
