Albinas Zelvis, 85, of Waterbury, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home, on March 24, 2018. He was married for 47 years to the late Magdalena Zelvis.
He was born in a small Lithuanian village on June 26, 1932, son of the late Peter and Veronica Zelvis.
Al was a veteran who served in the army during the Korean War.He was also a member of St. Joseph Church in Waterbury. He enjoyed reading, nature, and music. His hobby of completing odd jobs was appreciated by all who knew him. He also treasured his time spent on Sunday afternoons home with his family.
He is survived by his daughter, Rima and her husband Ryan McGeehan, of Prospect; a son, Linas Zelvis, and his wife Heather, of Waterbury; and his grandchildren, Lia and Darius Zelvis, and River and Ryder McGeehan.
Al was predeceased by two brothers.
Memorial donations may be made in his name to The Harold Leever Regional Cancer Center, 1075 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, CT 06708.
Calling Hours will be held from 4:30pm to 6:30pm, on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at Colasanto Funeral Home, 932 Bank St., Waterbury. Burial will be private, and at the convenience of the family.
