I was a student of Miss Betty's in the 1960s, taking tap and ballet. I can still remember carrying my shoe case to class on Saturdays and changing in the hallway between lessons. The recitals at the State Theater were so exciting. She taught us to be disciplined but to have fun. From that young age on, I never had a fear of being on stage. I wasn't a very good dancer, but then and now, when the music comes on, my feet start moving, and I can imagine myself as graceful. Thank you, Miss Betty. My condolences to the family.

She was so kind and patient. My Mom Josephine used to help sew the costumes.
She was a very special lady that taught us the Love of dance may she rest in piece.
