Mr. Donato Fratoddi, 86, of Waterbury, passed away on October 15, 2016, at Waterbury Hospital following a short illness. He was loved by family and friends.
He was born on February 1, 1930, son of the late Angelo and Caroline (Iagatto) Fratoddi.
Dan attended Merriman Grammar School and graduated from Crosby High School. He enlisted in the military and served in the Army. He was employed at Robertshaw Luxtime until their closing; and then went on to work at Century Brass Products. The enjoyed baseball and was an avid golfer. He had many friends at the Speak Easy Café, and the family would like to thank them all for their many years of kindness, compassionate support and friendship. You also like to thank Maria----you truly are a special person.
Dan is survived by his sister, Sarah Santaguida, his nephew, Frank Santaguida (Elizabeth),his nieces, Donna Vignali (Bernard), carol Santaguida Clark (Henry) and Grace Santaguida, great nieces and nephews, and great, great nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother, Louis Fratoddi and brother-in-law, frank Santaguida.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wheeler-Young VFW Post 201, Baldwin Street, Waterbury.
The funeral will be held, Thursday, October 20, 2016, at 9:00am, from Colasanto Funeral Home, 932 Bank St., Waterbury, to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 309 South Main St., Waterbury, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday, October 19, 2016, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the funeral home.
