Esther (Sticca) Tullo

Esther [Sticca] Tullo 95, of Cheshire, passed away on Monday, July 11, 2016 at Evergreen Health Care Center, Stafford Springs, CT. She is pre-deceased by her loving husband, Joseph A. Tullo.

Mrs. Tullo was born Feb. 14th, 1921 in Castelmauro, Italy, daughter of the late Anthony and Eleanor [Petta] Sticca. She arrived in America when she was 3 years old, and grew up in Pittston, PA. When she married, she lived in Waterbury, CT, and then raised her children in Cheshire, CT.

Esther leaves her daughter, Sandra Sheehan, her son-in-law Thomas M. Sheehan of Niantic, CT and her son, Patrick Joseph Tullo of Dallas, TX. She also leaves her granddaughter Kimberly Sheehan of West Hartford, and her grandson Thomas D. Sheehan, and his wife Courtney Sheehan of Tolland, as well as 5 loving great grandchildren, Scott Koss, Lindsay Koss, Todd Koss Jr., Thomas Sheehan, and Eamon Sheehan.

In addition, she leaves her brother Elmer Sticco of Florida, and her sister, Julia Latone and her husband Philip Latone., and a sister-in-law, Gloria Sticca of Florida. She was pre-deceased by her sister Josephine Scarmella, and her brother John Sticca.

Esther was an incredible seamstress, fabulous cook, tireless worker and baked delicious Italian Cookies, which she always provided for the many family showers and weddings. Esther especially loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and was clearly and dearly loved by her many, many nieces and nephews.

She will always be in the hearts and souls of everyone that knew her, and will be sorely missed by her family.

The family wishes to sincerely and gratefully thank all the dedicated staff at Evergreen Health Care for their many years of devoted care. In  addition, many thanks to the staff of Home and Community Health Services Hospice of Enfield, CT.

A wake will be held at Colasanto Funeral Home, 932 Bank St, Waterbury from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, July 14th. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Esther’s life will be held Friday, July 15th, 11:00 AM at the Church of the Epiphany, 1750 Huckins Rd, Cheshire. Family and friends may meet at the funeral home at 9:30 AM until time of service.  Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, 2324 E Main St, Waterbury, CT.
