Eugenia Beyer Obituary

Eugenia Beyer, 99, of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2016, at Griffin Hospital.

Eugenia was born in Waterbury, CT, on March 18,1917, the daughter of the late Clement and Mary (Lauskite) Botvinis.

She spent her early childhood in Oxford, CT, where she attended a one room school on Chestnut Tree Hill Rd.  She then lived in Watertown for many years, prior to moving to Bridgeport.  She was a strong- willed and fiercely independent woman, who enjoyed gardening, arts and crafts, taking trips to Atlantic City, Sunday afternoon card games, and listening to books on audio tape.

Eugenia leaves behind several cousins, close friends, and especially Roberta Hodgson, whose family welcomed Eugenia into their own, when she was just a young girl, following the loss of her parents.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Edward Botvinis.

A Funeral Mass will be held, 10:00 AM Thursday, August 18, 2016, at St. Patrick’s Church, 50 Charles St., Waterbury.  Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.   Everyone is being asked to meet directly at the church.
