Louise D. (Colucci) Ricciardi

Louise Delores (Colucci) Ricciardi, 92, of Waterbury, beloved mother and grandmother passed away on October 24, 2017, at Waterbury Hospital surrounded by her loving family.  

She was born in Waterbury on April 10, 1925.  She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Pietro Ricciardi, to whom she was married for 56 years.

A lifelong resident of Waterbury, Louise was the daughter of the late Daniel and Eleanor Norine Colucci originally from Celenza, Foggia, Italy.

Louise worked for many years at Timex and C&C Screw Machine Company until her retirement.  She also helped raise her grandchildren who were the love of her life.

Louise is survived by her children, Angela (Anthony) Balzano of Northford, Peter Ricciardi, and Dana Kavanaugh and her partner, Marc LeBlanc, all of Waterbury.  She is also survived by four grandsons, Christopher and Nicholas Balzano and Kenneth and Tyler Kavanaugh.  She is also survived by nieces, Mary Norman, who helped care for her during the last two years, and Noreen Russman.

She was predeceased by her son, James Zollo, and her two brothers, Daniel and Joseph Colucci.

Louise’s family would also like to thank the staff of Middlebury Convalescent Home who provided exemplary and compassionate care to Louise for the past two years.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October  27, 2017, from 8:30 am to 9:30 am, at Colasanto Funeral Home, 932 Bank Street, Waterbury, followed by a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 785 Highland Ave Waterbury.  Burial will be private.
