The Flower Lady Of Highland Avenue
Margaret (Dalesio) Hellmann, of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Friday March 9, 2018, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was the widow of Edwin “Duke” Hellmann.
Margaret (“Margie”) was born in Waterbury, the daughter of Emanuele and Gina (Covello) Dalesio. She worked for Uniroyal in Naugatuck and Unisys in Waterbury. Her greatest joys were tending her flower gardens and spending time with her family.
Margie leaves behind her four children; Karen Archambault of Waterbury, with whom she was residing, Gail Cantoni Jamele of Terryville, Bonnie Pratt of Bristol and Douglas Hellmann of Hamden, her 7 grandchildren; Shana, Joshua, Johara, Lisa, Sarah, Jamie and Charles, and 3 great-grandchildren; Jolene, Benjamin and Francesca; and the Pratt children. She is survived by her brother Armand Dalesio and his wife Joan, of Waterbury. She was predeceased by her brothers Frank, Anthony and Rico, and her sister Lena.
The family would like to thank the staff of VITAS, the offices of Dr. Frank Longo and Dr. Dennis Dobkin, and nurse Shelley Guerrera of VNA Health at Home. Also special thanks to Margie’s niece Addie Geary.
