Marilyn J. (Lukasiewski) Kalwara, 64, of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2019, at St. Mary's Hospital Vitas.
She was born in Paris, France, on November 22, 1954, the daughter of Zygmunt and Irene (Matysik) Lukasiewski.
Marilyn immigrated with her parents to the United States when she was just 5 years old. She later returned to France to study Political Science at the University of Paris, where she received an Associate's Degree. After her graduation, she worked as a paralegal.
Marilyn loved to travel. She was multilingual, and spoke French, German, Polish, and English fluently. She enjoyed gardening and growing exotic flowers, sunning and collecting shells at the beach, reading books, and spending time with family and friends.
Marilyn is survived by her husband of 45 years, Walter Kalwara, of Waterbury, her sons, Christopher Kalwara, of Waterbury,Michael Kalwara, of Manchester, her daughter,
Crystal Ariola, and her husband Tony, of Thomaston, also Marilyn’s adoring grandson (Lucas) of Thomaston.
Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her grandfather, Stanislaus Matysik.

A Funeral Service will be held at 9am on Monday, March 11, 2019, from Colasanto Funeral Home, 932 Bank St. Waterbury, to St. Patrick’s Church/ St. Blaise Parish, 50 Charles St., Waterbury, for a Mass of Christian Burial, at 10am. Burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 4pm to 6pm, on Sunday, March 10, 2019.
