Michael Angelo Antico

Michael A. Antico, 70, of Waterbury, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 3, 2018, at home, surrounded by his family.

He was born in Waterbury, on April 26, 1948, the son of Velia F. (Nesta) Antico and the late Angelo M. Antico.

Michael was a Loving father and grandfather. He was an Army Veteran, and later graduated from the Culinary Institute of America. He worked as a chef throughout the city of Waterbury. In the last years of his life, he worked as a chef at La Cupola Ristorante, in Litchfield, doing what he loved. He touched many people's lives, and will be missed by all who knew him.

Besides his mother, Velia Antico, of Oakville, he is survived by his two daughters, Antonia Antico and Dominique Antico, both of Waterbury. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Maria, Michael, Mia, and Mariella, his brother, Richard Antico, of Woodbury, and his sister, Evelyn Sawicki, of Naugatuck.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, on Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at Our Lady of Loreto Church, 12 Ardsley Rd., Waterbury. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Everyone is asked to meet directly at church. Colasanto Funeral Home has been entrusted with all arrangements.
