Waterbury - Jacques Laperriere, 66, passed away on March 24, 2022, at Hartford Hospital, with his family by his side.  He was the loving husband of his childhood sweetheart, Joan (Matulunas) Laperriere.

Jacques was born on March 17, 1956, in Shawinigan, P.Q., Canada, son of the late Jean-Louis and Laurence (Gelinas) Laperriere.

Jacques graduated from Waterbury State Technical College, and earned his Bachelor's of Science degree from the University of New Haven. He was employed at Gordon Products as Chief Electrical Engineer for the last 34 years. 

Jacques treasured his family. He was an avid reader, known for his quick wit, and was passionate about his garden, music, hockey, and hot sauce.

Besides his loving wife of 43 years, Jacques is survived by his three beloved children, daughter Jolene (Laperriere) Langer and her husband Travis, son Jeffrey Laperriere, daughter Janet Laperriere, and his four precious granddaughters; Hailey, Sophie, Emma, and Mabel. He also leaves his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Barbara and Carmen Celentano, Bill and Betsy Hanley, his nieces, nephews, and their children.  

He was predeceased by his in-laws, Nell and Paul P. Matulunas, brother-in-law, Paul J. Matulunas, and sisters-in-law, Mary Hanley and MaryEllen (Modeen). 

A funeral service will be held Thursday, April 7, 2022, at 9:00 a.m. from Colasanto Funeral Home, 932 Bank Street, Waterbury, to St. Joseph’s Church, 46 Congress Ave., Waterbury, for a Catholic Mass at 10:00 a.m. Burial to follow in the Lithuanian Cemetery, 102 Plank Rd., Waterbury. Calling hours for Jacques will be on April 6, 2022, from 5 p.m., to 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
