LOVING WIFE, MOTHER, GRANDMOTHER AND GREAT-GRANDMOTHER

Mary (Colagrossi) D'Antino, 99, of Middlebury, formerly of Waterbury, passed away on January 24, 2023, at Waterbury Hospital, with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late Anthony D'Antino, her loving and devoted husband of forty-six years, who passed away in 1993.

Mary was born November 15, 1923, in San Marco la Catola, Foggia, ltaly, the daughter of the late Matteo and Teresa (lannantuoni) Colagrossi. She was educated in ltaly, and moved to Waterbury with her husband and children in 1954. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, and a former member of the Carmelites. For many years, she assisted with the annual Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. She was a retiree of Uniroyal in Naugatuck and Unisys in Waterbury.

Mary was an accomplished seamstress who enjoyed sewing, gardening, baking her ltalian cookies and cakes, and making her homemade pizza and sausage bread. She loved cooking her delicious ltalian meals, entertaining her family and friends, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who affectionately called her " Nonna."

Mary is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Correia and her husband Michael, of Watertown, her son, Louis D'Antino and his wife, Patricia, of Middlebury, her grandchildren: Gina Hansen and her husband, Kristian, of Waterbury, Michael Correia, Jr., of Watertown, Matthew Correia and his wife, Jessica, of Middlebury, Monica Erwin and her husband, Christopher, of Middlebury, Joseph Correia and his wife, Marissa, of Beacon Falls, Jason Bensavage and his wife, Veronica, of North Carolina, eleven great-grandchildren: Mason and Aiden Hansen, Liam and Noah Correia, Bryce and Bailey Erwin, lvy and Jesse Correia, Brianne, Jayla, and Faith Bensavage, many cousins, including Lucille Barzda, of Bristol, and Marie Varanelli and her husband Richard, of Prospect, and many nieces and nephews in the U. S. and ltaly.

ln addition to her husband, Anthony, and her parents, Matteo and Teresa, she was predeceased by her brother, Giuseppe Colagrossi and his wife, Nina, and her sister-in law, Maria lannantuoni and her husband, Angelo, all from Meda, Milano, ltaly, her Aunt Angelina and Uncle Michael Tufarolo, of Waterbury, and her great-grandson, Dylan Correia of Middlebury.

A Funeral Service will be held at Colasanto Funeral Home, 932 Bank Street, Waterbury, CT, Tuesday, January 31, 2023, with calling hours from 8:30AM to 9:30AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, in Waterbury, at 10:00AM. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
