Maryann (Aleksinas) Gabaree

Maryann (Aleksinas) Gabaree, age 89, passed away peacefully October 22, 2020, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born May 20, 1931, to William and Mary Aleksinas.  She lived in Waterbury, CT, her entire life.  She married the love of her life, Robert Francis Gabaree, in June of 1949, who preceded her in 1984.

Maryann was an avid walker and loved to peruse the shops of Waterbury.  She was extremely independent and was active throughout her life.  She enjoyed her many years in the laundry, ironing and washing clothes.  She often spoke of laundry being her most important hobby.  She celebrated beating cancer many years ago, and was admired as “one tough cookie.”

Maryann is survived by her caring son, Robert W. Gabaree, and his wife Tammy, her loving grandsons, Robert F. Gabaree and Derek Spearrin, and also her sister and her husband, Helen and Ronald Jurzyk. 

Maryann was greatly loved, and will be missed tremendously.

A Graveside Service will take place at 11:00 AM, on Tuesday, October 27, 2020, at Calvary Cemetery.
