Angela Skladaitis, 97, of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 18, 2017, at Middlebury Convalescent Home.
She was born on August 10, 1920, in Kybartai, Lithuania, the daughter of Konstantinas and Magdalena (Sagevicius) Skladaitis.
Angela immigrated to the United States in 1951, and settled in Waterbury, with her sister and two brothers. She was educated in Lithuania, and employed at Litton Industries, in Oakville, CT, until her retirement. She was devout in her Catholic faith, deeply religious, and an avid reader. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph Church in Waterbury, and an active member of the Lithuanian community.
She was predeceased by her brothers, John and Joseph, and sisters, Elena and Emilija.
Angela is survived by her youngest brother, Vincent, as well as extended family and friends.
She leaves comforted by the care of the nurses and staff of Middlebury Convalescent Home, and VITAS Hospice Care.
A Funeral Mass for Angela will be held 10:00 am, on Friday, November 24, 2017, at St. Joseph Church, 46 Congress Ave Waterbury, CT. There are no calling hours. Burial to be at a later date in the family plot, at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, on the grounds of the Immaculate Conception Spiritual Renewal Center in Putnam, CT.
