Tom, I just learned of your father's passing today. I never thought we'd have this in common, but I just buried my mom in Mt. Olivet this month, too. She died on June 21st. I feel like the huge hole in my heart just doubled. Your dad was an amazing man, and memories of times I had with him throughout the years will keep him alive in my heart for the rest of my life. He made the world a better place, and I feel richer for having known him. Even today, I can't hear the song "More" without thinking of him. It was the song I requested whenever I was at one of his performances. When he gave up singing, he'd play it for me as an instrumental. My deepest condolences, dear friend -- to you, Ellen, Alan and the rest of the family.
RIP Al... safe journey home.

Al just glowed with such a positive light!. How we need that in this world today. He had a twinkle in his eye that just made everyone feel good. He never let his age hold him back . He was always up to try something new. He is one person that lived a Full Life. May all those wonderful memories be a comfort to his family. May he rest in peace.

To the Jarus family: I am so sorry for your loss of Alphonse. My parents, Joseph and Helen (nee Stokna), grew up with Al and had remained friends for many years . They talked of the shared experiences of having attended St. Joseph's parish activities such as being in the church choir, and the LIETUVOS Orchestra concerts. My parents and Al had exchanged Christmas cards throughout the years, all with special thoughts of one another, until advancing age and the difficulties that came with it, quiescently caused those welcome exchanges to come to an end.
I had the wonderful opportunity to meet Al at one of the Kucious dinners. He was so very pleasant and engaging about his music. It was nice to talk to him and remember the fun times he and my parents had in their youth. May God keep Al in his tender care and may his memory help you find comfort and know peace.
