Aunt, Great-Aunt, Great-Great-Aunt

Edith F. Bruno, 99, of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2020, at St. Mary's Hospital Vitas.

Edith, the daughter of Francesco and Maria (Cianciulli) Bruno, was born on February 13, 1921, at 22 Fifth St., Waterbury, where she lived for 97 years, before going to Cheshire House Nursing Home.

She was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church in Waterbury. She worked at the Bristol Babcock Company, as a secretary in systems engineering, for over 40 years, until her retirement.

Edith enjoyed a full life. She loved to travel, paint, bowl, golf, and she especially loved to play bridge. She loved to see her name in the paper for her high scores. She loved flowers - her favorite were Lilies. She was very proud of her yard, blooming bushes, and trees.

Although she never married, she was surrounded by her sister's children, who all cared for her. Her favorite pastime was attending all the family gatherings at restaurants, and at the homes of her two nieces, Barbara Vitale, and Jacqueline Greenwood. This tradition was then taken over by her two great-nephews, Michael and Mark Vitale and their families.  They provided her with many of her special "to go" meals, which usually included seafood - of which she was particularly fond of. Her contribution of her famous "cauliflower dish" will never be forgotten.

She was also never without her camera. We all have an Aunt Edith picture. Now, we will have these pictures to remind us of her.

Edith leaves behind her sister Louise's family: Michael Bartolini, Barbara Vitale, Jacqueline Greenwood, John Bartolini, Daria Metcalf, and Giacomo Bartolini. She also leaves behind: Lorraine LeClerc, Virginia O'Gorman, Anthony Andreano, Gloria Freeman, Diane Butler, and Holly Dorso. She is also survived by her sister, Helen Andreano, 103, of Bouse, Arizona.

She is predeceased by her niece, Mary Ann Reale.

Colasanto Funeral Home has been entrusted with all arrangements. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to: St. Patrick's Church, 50 Charles St., Waterbury, CT, 06706.  To leave online condolences, please visit us at www.colasantofh.com.
