France Violette
Loving wife, mother and grandmother
Mrs. France (Dessureault) Violette, 76, of Waterbury, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Saturday, December 3, 2016. She was the widow of Raymond Violette.
France was born in Trois-Rivieres, Province de Quebec on May 1, 1940, daughter of Maurice and Fernande (Gauthier) Dessureault.
She was employed by American Buffing in Waterbury until she retired. She was also a very talented seamstress.
She treasured time with her family and friends and enjoyed traveling, bowling, and trips to the casino. She enjoyed volunteering for many organizations – the Ladies Guild at St. Francis Church, the bowling Sunshine Club, and the senior center.
France leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Claude Sicard and his wife, Debra of Maryland and her daughter, Pat Sicard of Beacon Falls; four grandchildren, Bradley, Brooke, Steven and Alex and a great granddaughter, Adrienne; she had six brothers and sisters from Canada and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
We would like to thank the nurses who took such good care of our Mom. Lisa Accousti, who went above and beyond and was not only a caregiver but a wonderful friend, we would also like to thank Trish, Cathy, Sheila and Brittany. Without them, France would not have been able to stay in her beloved home.
A funeral service will be held Friday, December 9, 2016, at 8:30am from Colasanto Funeral Home, 932 Bank St, Waterbury, to St. Francis Xavier Church, 625 Baldwin St. Waterbury, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am. Burial will be privet, and at the convenience of the family. Calling hours are Thursday, December 8, 2016, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
