Francis (Frank) Louis Pellegrino Jr.July 21, 1963 ~ March 7, 2021 (age 57)
Frank L. Pellegrino, Jr.
-Loving Family Man-
Francis Louis Pellegrino, Jr., 57, of Waterbury, passed away peacefully in his sleep, on March 7, 2021. He was the husband of Lisa (Greenwood) Pellegrino.
Frank was born on July 21, 1963, in New Haven, CT, the loving son of the late Frank and Dianne (Ude) Pellegrino, Sr.
He graduated from Bell Detroit Diesel Inc., with a certification in Diesel Mechanics. He was a Heavy Equipment Mechanic for Metro North for over 35 years, until he had to retire early due to his disabilities.
Frank had many talents and hobbies. As a young man, he swam competitively (along with his cousins Gary, Ricky, and Mark Schettino) for the East Haven Big Blues - for which he won many trophies and awards. He loved fixing cars, and even had a business ("F + L Repair") with his cousin, Louis Grimm.
Frank had a need to keep busy. He could be found tending his yard, remodeling his home, cooking, baking, or grilling for the family at the many gatherings. He also enjoyed listening to country music, talking with his old railroad buddies, watching old westerns, and being a chauffeur to his wife, Lisa - but he especially liked shopping at the Dollar Store!
Family was everything to Frank. He married his longtime girlfriend Phyllis (Amarante) Pellegrino, and they had three children together. He even became a Boy Scout leader so he could spend more time with his boys, Frankie and Michael, and he attended all their Little League games. Recently, he was spending more time with his daughter Danielle (his girly-girl), and granddaughter, Isabella. Bella brought sparkle to Frank's life.
Frank had a special relationship with his dad and Uncle Nick. They spent much time playing cards, hunting in Maine, fishing, and skeet shooting. He loved to take his wife Lisa out dancing - Frank could really Bust a Move! He adored his in-laws Jaqueline and Ronald Greenwood, and could never thank them enough for all they did for him. Their generosity always left him in awe. Frank's most prized possession was his Bichon Frise, Angel. She was his "Pretty Girl."
Left to cherish his memory are: his wife, Lisa, ex-wife, Phyllis, his children, Frankie, Michael, and Danielle, his grandchildren, Michael, Jesse, Faith, and Isabella - who adoringly called him "Poopah," and "Pop Pop." He also leaves behind his daughter Shayla Bowers, of Alabama, and her daughter/his granddaughter, Ryder, his sisters, Donna Walsh and Lori Batza, several Aunts, Uncles, and cousins.
To Frankie - The man with the heart of gold, No more pain, no more struggle, no more tugging, you are free, "Li."
