Francis (Frank) John Serva Jr.

Francis John (Frank) Serva, Jr, 74, of Thomaston, passed away peacefully while sleeping at his home, on Monday, May 14, 2018.

He was born in Waterbury, on June 19, 1943, the son of the late Francis John Serva, Sr, and Pauline (Kaprosch) Serva. He attended St. Joseph Grammar School and Croft High School in Waterbury, and went on to earn his M.B.A. from the University of New Haven.

Francis was a Veteran, having served in the Air Force. He was an active member of Council 13424, 3rd Degree Knight, Knights of Columbus, and was an active parishioner of St. Blaise Parish (St. Joseph Church). He was an avid reader, but most of all enjoyed spending time with his grandson.

He is survived by his wife, Suzanne, son, Scott Serva, daughter, Tracie Karagianes, son-in-law, Jeff, grandson, Justin, and former wife and friend, Maureen Serva. In addition, he leaves three siblings; Pauline (Joan) Serva, William Serva, Ann Marie Soboleski, and step-children; Julie Smith and husband Jeff, Michael Barnes, Patrice Mansfield and husband Arnold, he also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 21, at Colasanto Funeral Home, 932 Bank St., Waterbury, with calling hours from 8:30 am to 9:30 am, followed by a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial, at St. Joseph Church, 46 Congress Ave., Waterbury. Burial to follow at the State of Connecticut Veteran's Cemetery, 317 Bow Ln., Middletown, CT, at 1:00 pm.
