Woodbury - George A. Cole Jr., 80, a life-long resident of Woodbury, passed away at home, on Saturday, January 29, 2022. He was married to Janet (Bryant) Cole for 62 years.

He was born in Waterbury, on February 7, 1941, the son of George A. and Minnie (Terrell) Cole, Sr.

George attended Woodbury High School. He was the owner of Woodbury Meat Center for several years, and worked as a carpenter for most of his life. In addition, he also worked for the Town of Woodbury Highway Department. After retirement from carpentry, he enjoyed traveling all over New England to attend Native American Pow Wows.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons: Michael and his wife, Linda (Wright) Cole, of Leicester, MA, David Cole, of Naugatuck, Mark Cole and Heidi Murray, of Bethlehem, Brian and Cori (DeRosa) Cole, of Woodbury, his grandchildren: Tyler Cole, of New Milford,  Joshua and Ethan Cole, of Spencer, MA, Ashley Cole, of Woodbury, Justin Cole, of Southbury, and Brieanna Gustafson, of Woodbury - who has been like a granddaughter. He also leaves behind his brother, Melvin and his wife, Laurie (Lowman) Cole, of Southbury, his sisters, Gail (Cole) and her husband, Robert Guiditta, of Woodbury, and Carol (Cole) Hanson, of Thomaston, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, George was predeceased by his two brothers, Ralph and Glen Cole, and his sister, Janet (Cole) Pond.
