Geraldine (Gerri) Hankey, 88, of Waterbury, passed away peacefully at home with her family, on Friday, June 7, 2024. She was the widow of George ‘Bucky’ Hankey, who helped her lead a full life of 35 years before his death.
Geraldine was born on July 5, 1935, in West Virginia, the daughter of the late George and Rosa (Foster) Burdette.
Geraldine is survived by her daughters, Deborah Porto-Velez (Jaime) and Carol Wilton (Paul), her daughters-in-law, Diane Porto and Suzanne Porto, her son-in-law, Frank Santoli, her brother, Charles Burdette (predeceased Georgiana) of Middlebury, and her sister, Flossie Bennett (Glen) of West Virginia. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, and her loving husband, Bucky, Geraldine was predeceased by her sons, Micheal Porto and David Porto, and her daughter, Doreen Santoli.
