Helen S. Boccardi, 83 of Waterbury, passed peacefully on April 20, 2015, embraced by the love of her family. She was the widow of Anthony R. Boccardi and long time companion of Frank Bartolini.  She was born April 30, 1931, in Duryea, Pennsylvania, daughter of John and Helen (Grabowski) Szynkowicz.  Her family moved to Waterbury where she attend local schools and worked 34 years as a Banking Specialist at Centerbank.

Loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Best Friend.  Beautiful memories were made because her family was her greatest joy.  She had the ability to make each person feel special.  She enjoyed all her friends at Eastgate Apartments where she organized Bingo and served as Treasurer of the Community Club.  Helen enjoyed traveling, casino trips and lunch with her friends.

Helen is survived by her daughters, all from Waterbury, Cindy Petrucci and her husband Mike, Jackie Boccardi, Ann Marie Kozloski and her husband Jim, Gina Hankey and her wife Dawn, Janice Boccardi, 14 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.  She is pre-deceased by 2 grandchildren. Helen also leaves her brothers, Stanley and Bernie Szynkowski and her sister, Theresa Drobish and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2015, at 9am from Colasanto funeral home 932 Bank St. Waterbury, to St. Patrick’s Church 50 Charles St. in Waterbury, for a Mass at 10am. Burial will follow in Calvary cemetery. Friends and family may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 from 5pm to 7pm.
