Mrs. Helen (Hodovanik) Dantino, 94, of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at Middlebury Convalescent Home. Helen was the devoted wife of the late Leonard A. Dantino.

Helen was born in Waterbury, on July 4, 1929, the loving daughter of the late Terenty and Helen (Malenki) Hodovanik.

She graduated from Wilby High School, and went on to work in the Accounting Department at The American Brass Company, before marrying Leonard in 1955. At that point, she became a full-time homemaker, devoting her life to her family. Helen was a true matriarch.

Helen was an avid duckpin bowler, and belonged to the Major "A" Bowling League, and the Friday Night Mixed League. She loved to make arts and crafts, was an expert seamstress, and could bake just about anything. Helen was a life-long communicant of Calvary Baptist Church, and a member of the Senior Saints.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Cheryl A. Nardella, of Watertown, her sons, David B. Dantino and his wife, Kerry, of Waterbury, and Neil Dantino and his wife, Lisa, of Plymouth. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Michael Nardella and his wife, Alexis, of Middlebury, Shaun Nardella and his wife, Stephanie, of Southington, David Dantino and his wife, Samantha, of Canton, Drew Dantino and his fiance, Olivia Haynes, of Lynbrook, NY, and also her great-grandchildren: Olivia Nardella, Emilia Nardella, Duke Dantino, Atlas Dantino, and many nieces and nephews.

Helen was predeceased by her brothers, Joseph and Michael Hoden, her sisters, Mary Spadaro, and Anne Spino, her son, Leonard A. Dantino Jr., and son-in-law, Michael J. Nardella Sr..

Helen's family would like to recognize the staff at Complete Care of Middlebury, and Accent Care Hospice, for their wonderful care of our mother.

A Service will be held at 10:30 am, on Tuesday, July 9, at Calvary Baptist Church, 3000 N. Main St., Waterbury. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery, 2324 E. Main St., Waterbury. Calling hours will be on Monday, July 8, from 5-7:00 pm, at Colasanto Funeral Home, 932 Bank St., Waterbury.
