James Vaicaitis Obituary

 

 

James W. Vaicaitis, 88, of Waterbury, passed away peacefully in his home, on May 22, 2022. He was the loving husband of the late Ann (Lane) Vaicaitis.

James was born in Waterbury, on July 10, 1933, the son of Stanley and Mildred (Prescavage) Vaicaitis.

He graduated from the University of Connecticut/UCONN, as Valedictorian of his class. He served in the United States Armed Services during the Korean Conflict. He worked as an Administrative Buyer at Winchester Electronics, until his retirement.

James enjoyed fishing, watching classic movies on TCM, and watching his favorite team, the New York Yankees.

He is survived by his niece, Dana Prenez, and his dear friend, Vincent DiMaria, Jr..


Besides his wife, James is predeceased by his daughter, Kathleen Vaicaitis, and his sister, Carol Vaicaitis.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

James' loved ones would like to thank Dr. Radd and the staff of the Harold Leever Regional Cancer Center, in Waterbury, CT, for all their compassion and kindness, and also thank visiting nurses Maria Mattei, Celeste Gumtie, and Stephanie Dias for their exceptional and loving care of James.
