April 6, 1940 – July 24, 2019
James (Jim) David Bravi, age 79, passed away peacefully in his sleep, on the morning of July 24, 2019, with his devoted wife of 55 years, Lesley (Brydon) Bravi by his side.
He was born on April 6, 1940, in Peckville, Pennsylvania, to the late Donald Bravi and Helen (Babicz) Bravi.
Jim was the youngest child, and he was often considered the troublemaker. He was raised in Waterbury, Connecticut, alongside his older sister, Josephina, and his older brother, David.
James attended the University of Connecticut from 1958 – 1961. It was here that he met his wife Lesley. He graduated in 1961, with a Degree in Pharmaceuticals.
James and Lesley eloped in 1963 and started a family of their own. In 1979, James started his own pharmacy, Madison Plaza Pharmacy, in Madison, CT. It was truly a family business, with Lesley and all of his children working there as they grew up.
James will be remembered for his quick-wit humor, and his passion for cooking, traveling, reading, and politics. He will be Greatly Missed by all who knew and loved him.
Besides his wife Lesley, he is survived by his brother David, his children (and their spouses), Scott (Heather), Michael (Nicole), Katie (Chris), and Craig (Chris), and his ten grandchildren: Zachary, Abigail, Gregory, Maxwell, Emma, William, John, Jane, Andrew, and Alexandra.
There will be a private ceremony held at St. Blaise Parish/ St Patrick’s Church in Waterbury, on Saturday. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
