Julia Helen Norkus

Julia Norkus, 89, of Waterbury, CT, passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2017, after a brief illness. 

Julia was born in Waterbury, on December 25, 1927, the daughter of the late Ingus and Nellie (Pikunas) Norkus. 

She attended St Joseph School, and graduated from Wilby High School. She was a parishioner of St Joseph Church.

Julia retired from Southern New England Telephone, after 38 years of service. She was a member of the SNET Pioneers Club. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, and watching "Wheel of Fortune."

Julia is survived by her sister, Nellie Stonkus, and a niece, Diane Boucher, both of Burke, Virginia. She is also survived by six grand nieces and nephews, and six great-grand nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her nephew, Algirdas Dumcius.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 22,2017, at Colasanto Funeral Home, 932 Bank St, Waterbury, with calling hours from 8:30 am to 9:30 am, to St Joseph Parish, 46 Congress Ave., Waterbury, for a 10am Mass of Christian Burial. The burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
