Marian A. Pelletier, 77, of Woodbury, passed away peacefully at home, on May 2, 2024. She was the wife of the late Charles Pelletier.
She was born in Waterbury, on October 30, 1946, the daughter of the late Joseph and Adele (Meleckis) Marcelynas.
Marian grew up in Waterbury, but was a long-time resident of Woodbury for the last 35 years. She was a teacher for over 35 years in the Southbury School System. Besides teaching, Marian loved being a folk singer and songwriter. She was a devout parishioner of St. Joseph’s Parish. Marian was always one to help a person in need, whether it be a fellow parishioner, or a sick neighbor.
She is survived by her son, Denis A. Pelletier, of Woodbury, her brothers: Joseph A. Marcelynas of Hillsboro, OR,, Arthur R. Marcelynas of Waterbury, Gary E. Marcelynas of Sudbury, MA, Michael A. Marcelynas of Watertown, John A. Marcelynas of West Yarmouth, MA, her sister, Sue Anne Armour of Waterbury, several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph's Church, 46 Congress Ave., on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at 10:00am. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
