I met Rocco (Nicky) on his 29th Birthday we spent time together for 6 years. He was the kindest man who brught me thru a rough time when I lost my sister.
I will always be grateful for that.

Sorry to hear of Nick’s passing. I did business with Nick for 25 years. I serviced his coin operated machines at Scruples. I can truly say that if I needed something, I would talk to Nick for a solution. If he was your friend, there was nothing he wouldn’t do for you. All his closest friends would come over for Saturday lunch and talk politics, sports, Waterbury history, or whatever kept the conversation going. My favorite one was when the question asked was “ who are or were the toughest guys in Waterbury?”
You KNOW Nick made that list! I miss him already...he was iconic Waterbury!

Dear Madeline,
Thinking of you and remembering Nick fondly. He was so special and had such a kind and loving heart. I loved the talks we had about "old Town Plot" and "the good old days". He was a terrific cook and loved seeing people enjoy the food he made. Nick was always there to lend a helping hand if a friend needed something or had a problem. He helped so many people and will always be remembered for his generosity and caring. I will remember him in my prayers and in my heart.

Madeline and family-
While I did not know Nick well, I loved him as much as everyone else did. I always looked forward to seeing him at Scruples and around Waterbury. We fell into a wonderful tradition of telling each other almost every joke we had ever heard in our lives!!! I will never forget his voice, his hearty laugh, the twinkle in his eye, and the way he treated old and new friends alike. He was a joy to be around, and I felt honored that he looked forward to seeing me, and always made time to talk to me and ask how things were going in my life, considering how many people he truly knew near and far, for over three-quarters of a century.
He was a phenomenal host, treated his staff like they were his own daughters, and left an indelible impression on all who knew him, and the town as a whole. May he Rest In Peace and watch over us all! 💟✝️

Dear Madeline and family,
Please accept my sincere condolences for the passing of my dear friend Nickie. There are no words to express my sorrow at this time. We were part of a group who enjoyed time at his bar, traveling and Christmas Eve together whether it was at Scruples or at my home. He will remain one of my closest confidants and friends. He spoke often with pride and love of you and his family. He is now with our mutual friend, Joe Cutrali and my long time companion, John Salerno playing that round of golf in God's home. Bless Nickie and all those who love and miss him. Janis

Dear Madeline and family, I was extremely saddened to hear about the loss of your brother. My family has known Nick since he was a little boy. He was always hanging out with my uncles. I know that you were also friends with my Aunt Edith who just passed & is on the same page as Nick on this website. I remember when I was little our family would stop in to see Nick at the bar and he used to make all us kids Shirley Temples!..we used to love that. He will be greatly missed, he was a kind, generous person and no one could sing Louis Armstrong's "what a wonderful world " like him! My deepest condolences to the entire family..Nick, rest in peace, sincerely Lisa

Madeline and family ,we send our condolences.I knew Nick through my dad, Tony. Whenever I ran into him,he would always take time ... then ask," How"s your dad, then make a fist as big as a baseball mitt, then a contagious smile.
